Villiers Park has announced Gaby Sumner as its new permanent chief executive. Gaby joined Villiers Park in March 2022 as director of fundraising, becoming interim chief executive last autumn. She brings years of experience in senior leadership from roles across the public, private and third sectors.

Villiers Park is a national social mobility charity that delivers evidence-led programmes that develop personal and employability skills and raise academic outcomes for underrepresented young people aged 11-19.

Adrian Ball, chair of trustees, said:

“I’m delighted to announce Gaby Sumner as our new chief executive. Gaby brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role and has already made a mark over the last few months as our interim chief executive.

“Thanks to Gaby’s leadership, Villiers Park has refocused its work and laid the foundations for growth in the future.”

Prior to joining Villiers Park, Gaby held several senior posts, most recently at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where she was campaign director for Cambridge Children’s Hospital. Gaby is also a trustee of Cambridge Junction and Synergy Theatre Project.

Gaby Sumner, chief executive, said:

“I’m thrilled and humbled to be appointed as chief executive. Villiers Park’s work to support underrepresented young people has never been more important. Over the last few months, I’ve learned that we could not do what we do without the generosity and dedication of our staff, volunteers, partners and supporters. I feel privileged to lead such an amazing team and look forward to enabling more young people change their own lives for the better."
