Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

19-03-2020
Our sites are closing but it's "business as (un)usual" in our commitment to the success of our young people.
closed but awesome
Light blue triangle

The health and safety of everyone involved with Villiers - our young people, schools, partners, staff and suppliers - is our top priority. It always has been and always will be. Our thoughts are with all those around the world who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Whilst we have been working to keep our sites open as long as we safely can, we now need to smoothly move into a period of temporary closure:

  • Regional Hubs: in line with schools, face-to-face activity will temporarily cease from Friday 20 March. Staff will continue to work with Scholars and students through our safeguarded online platforms during term time.

  • Cambridge Centre students: residential courses will temporarily cease from Friday 20 March.

  • Cambridge Centre staff: most staff will be working from home by Tuesday 24 March with the Centre completely closed from Thursday 26 March.

Currently we are planning to reopen our facilities to Estates and Catering staff on 1 June, to all staff on 3 June, and to students on 8 June. Whether this will be possible will become clearer as time passes and as we receive government advice, but we will update everyone involved with Villiers as frequently and as comprehensively as necessary.

Villiers remains absolutely committed to the success of the young people it seeks to empower. We’ve invested heavily in developing practices and processes which enable us to carry out our vital work from wherever we are. It will be ‘business as unusual’ for us.

I understand that this may be a worrying time for you, your friends and family. Please continue to follow the Government’s advice on coronavirus/COVID-19.

Best wishes,

Rae, CEO
